Congratulations to James Mitchell and Tracy Stoltz who are competed at Adult Nationals in Bloomington, MN. James took the Bronze Medal in Men's III Freeskate.
Tracy won the Bronze in Gold Ladies II Freeskate.

A very big round of applause to Kevin Wu who was awarded Memorial Hermann Sports Medicine's High School Athlete of the Week on Tuesday, February 17th. Representatives from Memorial Hermann, along with Winston Dutchin of KPRC Channel 2, presented Kevin with a plaque on the ice at SLISC. Way to go Kevin!

Our very own Nina Jiang finished in 5th place overall in the U.S. Figure Skating Junior Ladies National Championship. Way to go Nina!!! We couldn't be more proud.

BRIANNA & TAYLOR BANNER UNVEILING
An energetic and appreciative crowd was treated to an exhibition of Brianna de la Mora & Taylor Wilson's Gold Medal Intermediate Pairs routine on Saturday.
After the performance TGCFSC and Sugar Land Ice & Sports Center unveiled their newest banner which commemorates Brianna & Taylor's accomplishment.
The banner will be hung from the rafters in Rink B of Sugar Land Ice & Sports Center.

The awesome HITS team recently paid a visit to the mayor of Sugar Land and was recognized for their awesome achievement. The City has promised to support HITS in their effort to compete in Toulouse, France in April 2010.

In case you didn't hear the whooping and hollering all the way from Chicagoland, our Houston Ice Theatre Skaters put in one more stellar performance at the recent U.S. and International Theatre On Ice competions which were held in Chicago June 24-26, 2009. All they did was add one more gold medal, one more silver medal, and one more bronze medal to the trophy case. Not only that, they received top honors for sets and costumes. HITS also qualifed to compete at the World Competition to be held in Toulouse, France in April 2010.

Congratulations to Amanda Hrbacek on passing her Senior Freeskate at the Sunday, June 14th test session. This is quite an accomplishment. Amanda, we are very proud of you!
The Boot & Blade Buddies program is now in full swing! If you signed up to be a senior buddy and have not been assigned a buddy, please know that you are on the list and will be getting an assignment as soon as more junior buddy applications come in. A kick-off event was held at Club Ice on Friday, April 17th. Senior buddies baked cookies and organized on-ice relay games.


If you know of a skater age 5 – 10 that is in the “learn to skate” program, please invite them to sign up. Applications are in the box under the TGCFSC bulletin board in the Sugar Land Ice lobby.
